With the stunning revelation surrounding Bliss’s true identity comes the growing threat of the sinister Silver Bloods. Once left to live the glamorous life in New York City, the Blue Bloods now find themselves in an epic battle for survival. Not to worry; love is still in the air for the young vampires of the Upper East Side. Or is it? Schuyler has made her choice. She has forsaken Jack for Oliver, choosing human over vampire. But old loves die hard…And even coldhearted Mimi seems to suffer from the ties that bind.

Young vampires unite in this highly anticipated fourth installment of the New York Times best-selling series.

This book starts a year after ‘Revelations’ finishes. Schuyler and Oliver are on the run and don’t stay in one place for more than 72 hours; unable to go home as the conclave believe Schuyler murdered her grandfather Lawrence. Schuyler and Oliver go to Paris in hope they will find refuge with the European Conclave where they coincidentally ‘bump’ into Charles and Jack Force!

Bliss Llewellyn realises that she has lost a year of her life to the ‘visitor’, who controls her mind and takes over her body, pushing Bliss into the dark. Dylan appears to Bliss to help her understand. In desperation she reaches out to Schuyler for help but doesn’t get the chance to explain because they are interrupted with some important news.

Mimi has left New York and has gone on a mission with the venators, Kingsley Martin included to find Jordan Llewellyn who is in fact Sophia (the Watcher). Whilst on their trip Mimi develops feelings for Kingsley, which was unexpected as she’s so bent on the bond between her and Jack. Could Kingsley have the power to change her mind?

I think this is the most touching book of the series so far. The romance and sacrifices are very touching. I like the fact we see a new side of Mimi, one that doesn’t evolve around Jack Force. I’m also glad that after all this waiting Schuyler finally gets to be with Jack; YAY! But for how long will it last this time?

There are plenty of twists that happen in this book that leave a variety of options for the following books in the series; of which i can’t wait to read. I can only imagine what will come next!

Bring on ‘Misguided Angel’.
