Death brings some families closer, but it’s ripped mine apart. I wanted to convince the police that they had the wrong suspect…but I never expected them to start suspecting me. Now, I have no choice but to keep searching for the truth, even if all my relationships fall to pieces around me.

Someone is trying to make me look guilty. I never thought my mission to prove my own innocence would lead me to more family secrets. I thought I had already discovered the truth about myself. But every answer raises more questions, and everything I think I know is about to change…again.

I have to find the truth, no matter how much it hurts — before I get charged with murder.

At the end of Justice a girl from Sloane Academy, Laurel is murdered, River was arrested for her murder and Rain is determined to prove his innocence.

During her quest to find out the truth Rain discovers more secrets about her own life, she’s not sure what to believe anymore as what she’s told to be true turns out to be yet more lies.

I’m so glad I didn’t have to wait long to read ‘The Tower’ after finishing ‘Justice’. After being left at a cliffhanger I was eager to find out what happens next and I wasn’t disappointed.

Rain is an awesome character, she’s troubled yet determined to get the truth, even if it causes damage. Her loyalty towards River, one of her only friends at Sloane Academy is one of the best things I love about her. Her relationship with her brother Sawyer is confusing to say the least, but they are close, which cant be said about her sister. Carsyn is still a b**ch, and probably always will be. She’s so petty and full of herself although we do see a different side of her eventually.

There were so many twists and turns, each page brought something new to the story and I was surprised numerous times.

Overall I really enjoyed ‘The Tower’ as its a fun read with lots of drama.

A House of Cards…

When you build an entire life on a foundation of lies, it only takes one truth for the whole thing to come crashing down. I never invited the truth in. I never went searching for it. I never had any reason to suspect that the two people I loved most were dishonest with me every second of every day.

I made one bad decision, and in a single day my entire world changed. If I’m ever going to discover the truth about myself and my parents, I have to trace all the lies back to their source. I have to try to find the truth that they’re hiding.

The more I discover about myself, and my past, the more I realize that lies really are better than the truth. But now that I know the lies are all around me, I can’t stop until I’ve discovered them all. I’ll pull each lie away, one by one, and examine it to see what’s underneath…until this house of cards crumbles into dust at my feet.

I just hope I can survive the crash.

Rain gets a full scholarship to Sloane Academy where she gets on the bad side of Carsyn, the queen bee who plays a nasty trick that lands her in trouble. The life that Rain once knew comes crashing down around her when Rain discovers the family she knew was not her real family she is left with questions. Everything she thought she knew was based on lies and she’s determined to get to the bottom of it.

Rain feels out of place in her new home, with parents she doesn’t know, a sister who hates her and a boy she dates who turns out to be someone she shouldn’t see.

I was hooked from the start, the plot was interesting and very well written. At first I didn’t really know what to expect as the synopsis doesn’t really give much away but I’m so glad I accepted the request to review.

After reading other reviews I had the impression Justice was going to be predictable but I was wrong. It’s full of twists and turns that we’re totally unexpected.

I loved the character building, Rain was any easy character to love and I felt sympathetic towards her throughout most of the story. Carsyn on the other hand was a complete witch and I disliked her straight away. River I want to get to know more as I feel we didn’t get to know him as much as I would have liked, there’s something quiet about him and I want to know why.

The ending left me shocked as I totally wasn’t expecting it, a great way to end the book and I definitely want to read the next instalment ‘The Tower’ to find out what really happened and who’s responsible.

Overall ‘Justice’ was a fun read and I’m glad I don’t have to wait for the others in the series as I hate cliffhangers and really want to know what comes next.

Trick or treat, survive until the night’s complete.

For most people Halloween is a night of candy, costumes and revelry but for Kerilyn, it’s the most dangerous night of the year. Hailing from a line of demon hunters, Kerilyn’s family has long been hated by the ruling lords of the Netherworld. On All Hallow’s Eve, the deadly brothers are released from their realm, along with their subjects, the spirits and the demons. Like every good hunter, Kerilyn fortifies her home with spells and tricks to keep her safe. But there is one man no spell can protect her heart from.

Arawn, Lord of the Spirits, has appeared at her fence every Halloween for years. While the handsome lord may turn her head with his heated looks and seductive words, Kerilyn knows without a doubt that should she ever invite him in, her life would be forfeit. But when his brother, the Lord of the Demons, kidnaps her niece, Kerilyn must leave her sanctuary. Now she has a choice. Can the man she’s dreamed of for years be trusted, or will the spirit lord help his brother destroy her?

**A copy was provided for review purposes**

Kerilyn is the last surviving member of her family, the rest having been killed by demons and spirits alike. Demons and Spirits are free to roam the earth for one night a year, Halloween; It is the most deadly night of the year.

For the past nine years Kerilyn has been visited by Arawn, Lord of the Spirits. Kerilyn knows he is deadly but still chooses to talk with him anyway, from the comfort of her protected lawn.

When Sarah, Kerilyn’s niece is kidnapped by Abaddon, Lord of the Demons and Arawn’s brother she is forced to leave the safety of her home in hopes of rescuing her. Kerilyn is forced to confront Arawn for the first time unprotected. Will he help her or will he side with his brother and choose to kill her?

I enjoyed reading this short story, as far as paranormal romances go this was a fun read.

I felt the characters were a bit vague and couldn’t really connect with them, Kerilyn and Arawn are drawn to each other, which goes against everything she has been taught and Abaddon hates her.

Overall it was a good read but lacked detail and was a tad short. I hope there will be more to this story as I’m curious to know how her decision pans out.

Twenty years ago the Commander came into power and murdered all who opposed him. In his warped mind, the seven deadliest sins were the downfall of our society. He created the Hole where sinners are branded according to their sins and might survive a few years. At best.
Now LUST wraps around my neck like blue fingers strangling me. I’ve been accused of a crime I didn’t commit and now the Hole is my new home.

Darkness. Death. Violence. Pain.

Now, every day is a fight for survival. But I won’t die. I won’t let them win.
The Hole can’t keep me. The Hole can’t break me.
I am more than my brand. I’m a fighter.
My name is Lexi Hamilton, and this is my story.

**A copy was provided for review purposes**

Lexi Hamilton is taken from her home to the Hole where she is branded a sinner, after being accused of Lust, one of the Seven Deadly Sins by the Commander; who is an arrogant sadistic gerk. Lexi is then escorted to her new home by her guard; Cole. The Hole is a horrible place, where people go to work and die. Everyone is treated like an animal (besides the guards), there is no respect or justice, only cruelty.

I was so emotional reading ‘Branded’, never before have i read a novel that has reduced me to such a sobbing mess; that is of course until this came along. The story is so intense I just couldn’t put it down, if i tried it was back in my hand within minutes. All’s i kept saying throughout was “God, Please No!”. The plot was well thought out and no detail was left unturned.

The character building was amazing, not just the main characters Lexi and Cole but the minor characters too such as Sutton, Bruno, Keegan etc. I felt i really connected with all of them which is something that’s not always easy to come do, especially as there are so many of them.

My favourite character was Cole, how could it not be? He goes against everything he knows and is taught to help a sinner. The feelings developed between Lexi and Cole is heart-warming, although it is totally forbidden for Guards to get attached to the Sinners. This doesn’t stop Cole though, and he does everything he can to make the Hole better for her. I totally love him!

Overall i thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘Branded’ and can’t wait for the next Sinners novel as i’m dying to see what happens next! After reading the eBook i have even ordered the paperback i loved it that much. A job very well done ladies!

The epic romance that started with the New York Times and USA Today Bestseller Beauty from Pain continues…

How do you move on when he’s every song you sing?

After Laurelyn Prescott walks away from the love of her life, she returns to Nashville to pursue the only dream she has left. Determined to find a distraction from the pain of losing Jack Henry, she immerses herself in her music. But with her old life comes old acquaintances and new expectations. When Laurelyn refuses her record producer’s outrageous demands, she finds herself without a career—until an unforeseen opportunity presents itself. From there it’s a rocket ride straight to the top where Laurelyn finds the success she’s always dreamed of. Will it be enough to bring her the happiness she so deserves, or will the absence of Jack Henry leave her wanting more?

Jack Henry McLachlan never expected to fall in love with Laurelyn Prescott—but he did. After he foolishly let her slip through his fingers, he spends three months searching for her, but their reunion doesn’t come easy. The woman he finds isn’t the same one who drifted away without a goodbye. No longer an insecure girl on an Australian adventure, this Laurelyn is a successful musician with a promising career. Her dreams are becoming a reality, and Jack is terrified his American girl won’t have a place for him in her new life. With only a month to convince her otherwise, will it be enough time to make her visualize a life beyond the glitz and glamour, a life that includes him?

Beauty from Surrender is an adult contemporary novel and is not intended for younger readers due to mature content.

Laurelyn returns to Nashville after her 3 month vacation to Australia with her best friend Addison and is in a messed up state after leaving Jack Henry without saying goodbye. Laurelyn returns to work and joins a band, Southern Ophelia in hopes of getting her career back on track.

Miraculously Jack Henry returns for her and they’re together once more. Jack spends 4 weeks with her before he has to return to Australia, will she go with him or will he be going back alone? Can Laurelyn leave her music career behind for the man she loves?

Whilst a great story, Beauty from Surrender was a bit slow for me. I kept finding myself wanting to skim the pages so I can move on, which is something I never do.

Jack Henry’s character is the complete opposite in this novel compared to Beauty from Pain, then he was an Alpha male and in this novel he just seems so different. The only time we see the old him is when Laurelyn is confronted by her ex-boyfriend Blake, and Jack takes matters into his own hand, which was very hot.

I would have liked to find out more about Laurelyn’s relationship with her father now he’s back on the scene and also, what happened to Audrey? Did Jack do anything about her?

I found Beauty from Surrender to be a bit lacking, but still found it to be a good read.

I’m happy things ended when they did, i though it finished nicely.
