One horrifying day will change the life of sixteen-year-old Shane Tucker and every other kid in the world.

In a span of mere hours, the entire adult population is decimated, leaving their children behind to fend for themselves and deal with the horrific aftermath of the freak occurrence. As one of the newly made elders in his small town, Shane finds himself taking on the role of caretaker for a large group of juvenile survivors. One who just happens to be Kelly Douglas—an out-of-his-league classmate—who, on any other day, would have never given Shane a second glance.Together, they begin their quest to find out why all of the adults were slaughtered. What they find is even more horrifying than anything they could have expected—the annihilation of the adults was only the beginning. Shane and his friends are not the unlucky survivors left to inherit this new, messed-up planet. No, they are its next victims. There is an unknown power out there, and it won’t stop until every person in the world is dead.

A spine-tingling adventure that will have you gasping for breath all the way until the last page, The Last Orphans is the first book in an all-new apocalyptic series.

Something is seriously wrong in the world. Adults are getting attacked by animals and each other. Leaving the children to fight for themselves. The survivors need to find a way to stop the attacks or they could be targeted too.
Wow, I think I kind of feel sick. It’s such a dark book but I really did enjoy it. The first few chapters were slow going but it soon picked up it’s pace. It’s different than anything I’ve read, it’s dark yet hopeful at the same time. I felt myself praying for everything to work out okay, like to the point I couldn’t tear my eyes from the pages.
Poor Shane, and all the other kids for that matter. To lose their parents/guardians and have to rely on themselves and friends to protect all the younger children. It’s such a heavy burden to put on a bunch of 16/17 year olds but they handled it so well. I felt sorry for them all, to have to see the destruction and slaughter all around them, poor babies!
Harris writes a gripping story, filled with loss and despair, hope and strength. New friendship and love. A good read if you like apocalyptic. Be warned though, it will touch your heart and maybe make you shed a tear or two like it did for me.

It was supposed to be simple. Find the bad guy and save the girl.

I hadn’t expected Race True—a golden-haired beauty with a silver tongue that made me want to toss the rules aside.

I tried to fight my attraction to her, but she made it impossible.

Our chemistry became too much to ignore.

Temptation is dangerous.

In a moment of weakness, everything changed. We gave in to our carnal desires, letting ourselves drown in the passion we could no longer deny.

The problem was that I still had a job to do before her world collapsed.

If I failed at finding the person behind the threat, I’d lose Race forever.

Chelle Bliss is awesome! It’s been a few days since I finished Sinful Intent. I had to sit on my review for a while because all I could think upon finishing it was WOW, OMG, WOW, HOLY F*#K. You get my drift?
Chelle is a really talented author. She pulls you into her story and literally drags the emotions out of you right alongside her characters. I laughed, snorted hysterically, cried, melted, swooned and all out loved this book! If you haven’t read it yet, what the hell are you waiting for?
Race True is my kind of woman. She’s strong, determined, sassy, beautiful and stubborn. She’s having a rough time but she refuses to let it bring her down. Her determination to get through it is admirable. I’m definitely #TeamRace.
Morgan made me weak at the knees with his alpha mambo jumbo but at times I wanted to punch him. Although he’s smart, loyal, protective, gorgeous and swoon worthy his way of going about certain things leaves something to be desired. But that’s what made it all the more fun.
If you love action packed stories with a sexy alpha male and a strong headed heroine then this book is for you. I can’t wait for the release of Unlawful Desire!

Review: Return to Me (Covington Cove #1) by Kelly Moran

With every beat of the heart comes a memory of what could have been…

Ten years ago, Cole Covington was just another rich kid who got everything he wanted—including young and trusting Mia Galdon. Then one night everything changed, and two hearts were shattered. Cole buried his guilt in the military, where love was just part of the past. Now Cole has come back home, emotionally damaged, guarded, and unprepared for what’s waiting for him…

At the urging of Cole’s sister, Mia has returned to the Covington family’s coastal home in Wilmington as a private nurse to help Cole recover. With her uncertain personal life at a crossroad, Mia doesn’t have the luxury of saying no to the job. And she soon finds out that the attraction is still alive. So are memories of betrayal. But Mia will discover more than the power of resilience. She’ll discover a secret Cole has held for years, one that will force them to confront the past and give new meaning to letting go, forgiveness, and a future worth fighting for.

Military romances are a big love for me. My step dad is in the army and has done tours in places such as Afghanistan and Iraq. Sometimes, the mental injuries far outweigh the physical. PTSD is so common for soldiers and it makes my heart bleed. I have a big respect for people in the forces, our heroes.
Return to Me is a great book; from the first page I was hooked, right up until the last. Moran has a way with words, she catapults us straight into the story with her characters. Her writing is truly amazing and she is, and always will be one of my favourite authors.
Cole is so much more than he seems and I love how we get the past woven in with the present. It helps to understand the reasoning behind their emotions and just pulls us in all the more. Personally, I think his scars just add to his beauty; both physical and mental. The guilt he’s carried for 10 years has only festered and grew. Watching him learn to deal with it and forgive himself is something special. I just loved him, even though at times he deserved a smack to the head.
Mia spent 10 years of her life hating Cole, believing he’d thrown her out like yesterday’s trash. For her to agree to the job as his private nurse, whatever the reasoning was brave and smart. I really liked her character. She’s beautiful inside and out. Her profession suits her perfectly and she does her job well.
For those of you who haven’t read any of Kelly Moran’s work I can’t recommend them enough. The Dysfunctional Test and her phantoms series are both in my favourite pile. Don’t miss out on all the juicy goodness she has to offer!!

WOW, I feel like a broken jigsaw puzzle. My emotions are all over the place and don’t seem to be settling down anytime soon. I’m just blown away, I had high expectations for Squared as Hourglass was awesome and it exceeded my expectations, it was simply brilliant.

What I wouldn’t give right now to see Megan and Kym, after what they put me through they both deserve a smacked arse and a MASSIVE hug! The way they weave their tales is just magical, they suck you in and spit you out, rinse and repeat. One minute you’ll be crying with happiness, the next sobbing with heartbreak.

Brooke and Savannah have the sort of relationship every girl wants, best friends, sisters and always there for each other. I liked them in Hourglass but I completely LOVED them in Squared, they are so sassy, emotional, protective, sweet and strong. Is it wrong to say they complete each other? I know that’s their partners job but they so do, one without the other just wouldn’t be as fun.

Hourglass Squared is full of twists and turns that you’ll never see coming, not all good surprises but everything fits perfectly into the story. I couldn’t put it down until I’d finished it, AMAZING! I’m just gobsmacked and there isn’t enough stars to rate this book adequately.

Join forces with a parallel universe.

Dark forces, magical creatures, and the world Lil thought she knew collide when a dream transports her to the strange world of Orenda. Stunned and terrified, Lil comes face to face with her doppelganger, Willow, who possesses the ability to travel between the two worlds. Everything Lil knows logically says that Orenda can’t exist, but a small clue may be proof that it was more than an ordinary dream. With the threat of her sister in danger, Lil crosses dimensions but it may cost her even more than she bargained for.

A sword wielding girl, the eternal suit, and a parallel universe come together in this action- packed Young Adult fantasy adventure that will keep readers of all ages turning the pages. Orenda is the first novel in the Orenda series.

**A copy was provided for review purposes**

Lil has a dream, she’s transported to another world, meeting her doppelgänger. When she wakes up she’s left with questions. When a boy kidnaps her from school needing her help to save Willow, her double she jumps right in.

I love books with parallel universes, they’re fun to read and different. It’s amazing the imagination that goes into it. Ruth creates a world filled with magic, love, hope, fear and power. Fae are also a favourite creature of mine so I was really happy to see them included.

Lil and Willow look alike but they are very different. It’s only little things but it’s noticeable. I loved Lil, she will do everything she can to save her friends, even if it means making sacrifices. Willow seemed a little stuck up to me, but I loved how she was with Jamie and I warmed up to her towards the end. Hudson, Rawlie & Arianna were cool characters but I think they could have been a little more detailed.

The world building was good, I loved the portals and how everything came together. The individual powers from the Mystics was funky too. I had quite a few surprises thrown at me, one or two I definitely wasn’t expecting.

I had to put Orenda down a few times as I got bored but then at other times I was on the edge of my seat excited, It was a little up and down for me. Good but not my favourite from Ruth Silver. I’m curious to know what happens next even if I am a little undecided if I’ll read book 2.

Waking up in Vegas was never meant to be like this.

Evelyn Thomas’s plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure as hell never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hang-over to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened.
One this is for certain, being married to rock and roll’s favourite son is sure to be a wild ride.

Evelyn goes to Vegas with her best friend Lauren for her 21st birthday. She wakes up on the floor of her motel room bathroom with no idea how she got there. What she wasn’t expecting was David, the hot rock star to be in her room half naked and claiming they were married.

Evelyn returns home to Portland be bombarded by the paparazzi and then has to get away with Sam, David’s bodyguard who takes her to David to sort out the divorce papers. Evelyn and David got off on the wrong foot and soon become friends; but will it lead to more?

WOW! This totally rocked my socks! I had high expectations for ‘Lick’ and it definitely met them all. From the first page I was hooked. The plot was awesome and totally different from anything I’ve previously read. It draws the reader in a leaves you wanting more! I was giddy all the way through, LOVED IT!

Evelyn is insecure and it doesn’t help matters when David can barely even talk to her after he left her in Vegas. She finds herself wanting to spend time with him but doesn’t want to hope it could be more. David isn’t the average rock star, he may act like it but inside he’s broken, unable to trust. Evelyn could be the best thing that ever happened to him if he allows her inside.

The character building was great and you feel a real connection between Evelyn and David. Mal is my favourite character, he’s fun, flirtatious and keeps David on his toes around Ev, he’s so sweet, but in a totally rock god way! 😉

Overall I loved ‘Lick’ and can’t wait til the second book comes out next year! I was left with so many questions! Does their marriage survive? What about the band? Do they keep touring? What about Lauren and Nate?

A wooden bedstead dominated the room, its mattress in a cloth protector, and on either side of the bed were small nightstands. I sat on the bed and looked at Alison standing in the middle of the room. She stared straight back at me. No words were spoken as she took the few steps required before she was standing between my knees. Her hands cupped either side of my face. I ran my hands up her legs, catching her dress and raising it. She leant down for a kiss.

Her lips gently pressed against mine. I opened my mouth and my tongue tangled with hers. My hands had come to rest on her hips and I held them fast while pulling her closer to me. I could feel the lace of her panties under my fingers. Our kiss deepened; I was hungry for her.

I stood, and as I did I raised the dress over her head. She wore a matching lace panty and bra set, somehow that pleased me; I’d hoped she had dressed for the evening. Her tanned skin set off the white of the lace. She reached forward and unknotted my tie, sliding it from my collar, and with an agonising slow pace she undid the buttons of my shirt. Her hands brushed against my chest, lower and lower as each button was popped open. While she unbuckled my belt I shrugged the shirt from my shoulders, letting it fall in a heap on the floor. Alison ran her fingers around the waistband of my pants, her nails scraping gently against my skin. She popped the button, undid the zip and with my pants in her fists, she lowered them as she sunk to her knees.

5-Star Reader

This book was brilliant and intense. I felt Travis’ anger, fear, resentment and love to his “family” ie, Robert, Evelyn and Joe. He is a multifaceted character. He has all the usual emotions you would expect from one who has had a rough start in life but he is also fiercely loyal and protective to those he loves. He is also HOT and sexy and is incredibly charismatic. Yes, that is why I love him! This lovely by the incredibly talented Tracie Podger gets five stars from me. (But in my heart it deserves 100!)

~ Kerry-Ann (Kez’s Corner)

This book is simply spectacular. It tells the story of Travis, one of the pivotal characters in The Fallen Angel Series. I defy anyone to not fall in love with Travis from his turbulent childhood, through his journey of self discovery and sexual awareness! It’s a compelling, gripping story that grabs a hold

of you immediately. This author has the unique talent of completely immersing you in her world with her descriptive and enthralling words. Travis will live in my heart always… ~ Karen S.

Waking up next to a dead guy can ruin your whole day.
At least interior decorator Miriam Stokes’ thought so.
The Philadelphia Police Detective whose name she
couldn’t remember talked soothingly to her, making her feel, not
better, but at least calmer.
As calm as anyone could feel after finding a dead body.
How did she get herself into these things?
Sipping coffee Miriam didn’t remember asking for, she
eyed the cop as they sat in a flowered living room. Her friend Joe’s
neighbor owned said living room. The friend she just found dead.
She tried to keep eye contact with Detective. . .Dasher,

She could see him clearly now, her vision returning to

After swallowing the scalding liquid, she answered him.
“No detective. I do sleep very soundly, but I think I had help from
this bump on the side of my head.”
To indicate the injury, she pulled away the bag of ice
she held to her head. The ice had appeared sometime after the first
patrolman. The lump began to throb, but Donner only glanced at her
head. Instead, he scribbled some notes in a small pad.
How many murders does one have to see to get so
matter-of-fact about them? Miriam shuddered.
Could I at least get dressed? I feel a little
vulnerable in my pajamas,” she told him.
Donner. The detective had introduced himself as Donner.
He looked her over as if making a decision. He nodded, glancing
around the apartment. “Do you have any clothes?”
She nodded towards Joe’s apartment.
When they remove. . .” he murmured, then grimaced.
She caught his meaning.
He turned his brown eyes back to her. “We’ll work
things out. I just have a few more questions for you. Then we’ll go
Miriam nodded. Who would do this to Joe?
How long have you known the deceased?”

Delaine Talbot has a secret. When a matter of life and death threatens to tear apart her family, Delaine makes the ultimate sacrifice. She auctions herself off at Chicago’s most exclusive erotic club. Now she belongs to Noah Crawford, a wealthy mogul who introduces her to a seductive feast of the senses, awakening desires she only dreamed about.

Noah doesn’t know why Delaine sold her body for a cool two mil. But it’s the perfect business arrangement. The inexperienced beauty will learn to satisfy his every sensual need, yet never touch his heart. Almost immediately their relationship generates heat—in more ways than one. When they fight, they take no prisoners. When they love, they show no mercy. When they’re together, they never want to leave each other’s arms. But soon, their intense, physical bond will take an unexpected turn—evolving into something neither has bargained for: the promise of a lasting love.

Delaine’s mother is terminally ill and can’t be treated as they can’t afford it. So she decides to sell herself to the highest bidder, hoping to make enough for the transplant her mum so desperately needs. Noah Crawford is the highest bidder, what is supposed to be a none emotional arrangement doesn’t turn out so.

Delaine is I think the most selfless person I know. To sell herself to a complete stranger to save her mother from dying has got to be one of the most heart breaking yet bravest things I’ve ever read (and that’s a lot). I mean, she’s a virgin right? Surely she would never do it unless she believes there’s no other way. Just wow, I totally love her! And her attitude? Hahaha she made me laugh my socks off so many times, especially her speech to Lexi at the ball, even I said a “Ribbit” ( you’ll have to read it to get the joke ;)). I just loved her, she’s totally amazing.

Noah Crawford. I hated that I loved him. It’s unexplainable. One minute I was all OMG he’s amazing and the next I wanted to slap him silly! How bloody clueless can one man be? His mood swings were giving me whiplash, I get the reasons behind it but rather than keeping Lanie in the dark he should have just told her instead of making her feel like sh*t.

The story was genius, I loved it! A selfless woman and an arrogant, selfish man. I laughed and humphed, wanted to commit violence and applaud. A great story, I can’t wait to read A Million Guilty Pleasures (book 2 of which I already have, thank god).
